Like any metropolitan area, Chicago streets are tagged with stickers advertising bands, websites, and artists. It's a cheap, easy way to generate some street buzz for aspiring creatives. Those who pay attention, though, will tell you that King Louie is the best bet to make it big.
Although his stickers have come under scrutiny by some Chicago neighborhoods, the South Side native has been gaining respect from all walks of life in the city. It's been astounding seeing the rapid growth of his fan base (Keep an eye on his Twitter numbers for a week and you'll see what I'm saying).
I got the pleasure of meeting Louie a few weeks back and came away with respect for him as not just an artist, but as a person. He understands that it's a business, but he's all about doing well for his people.
